Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mary H. Miles, and a half-brother, Frank F. Orndorff. Besides time spent with family and friends, her favorite pastimes were working in her flower gardens, rehabilitating run down properties as a helper to her husband, cuddling with her cats, watching NFL football, and reading a good book. The chapel was small so everybody couldn’t sit in for the service. Other than that, it was very clean and well organized.

Mackie was employed by Wellman Industries as a department supervisor for over 30 years. His work career included 5 years at Coastal Construction and 10 years at the Ralph H. Johnson Veterans Administration Medical Center where he retired in 2010. Mackie had a great love for music and playing the bass guitar. One of his biggest prides was being one of the original members of The Golden Tones Gospel Quartet. He thoroughly enjoyed blessing the lives of others with his musical talent.
